The term "renewable energy" takes on many different meanings for many people. For "Martini Hill Recording Studio" the term means salvation, independence and a deep concern and contribution to the health and welfare for this extremely fragile environment that we humans and animal friends alike inhabit. Yes! It can be done! Martini Hill Recording Studio is powered by the wind and the sun using the latest in renewable energy technology. Your next jingle or commercial music project could be a totally "green" product! The following is a brief and simple technical description of the components that power Martini Hill Recording Studio. These components and related equipment can be found through the links provided on this website. Electrical power is collected and converted through what is called a "Hybrid System" comprising of #1 World Power Technology Whisper 3000 watt wind generator mounted atop a 90 foot tower and #16 Astropower 120 watt solar panels. The wind generator and solar panels are controlled and regulated by the World Power Technology "Easy Wire System Monitor Center" that is provided with the "Whisper 3000. DC power is then fed to a powerful bank of #16 Trojan L-16 6 volt deep cycle batteries. This bank of batteries is sized for our specific needs to provide approximately 2 weeks of carefully planned, monitored and consumed power without any wind or sun input. Power collection and consumption can vary greatly with seasonal changes. The DC battery bank is then converted or inverted to be specific, to AC power with a "Trace SW 5548 Sine Wave Inverter" Power is then fed to the circuit breaker panel. Excess power is regulated and "burned off" through a massive heat sink. This may sound a bit confusing.
